Welcome to all members.  I am setting the timer to 7 SECONDS for all members since I did not run a special over the weekend.  Are you ready for all this? LOL  Last week, I had a pinched nerve in my neck (still have it) and yesterday, the sciatic nerve in my hip became pinched. Needless to say, I am not moving very well.  In addition, on Thursday and Friday, we are to have the “little brother” to the Christmas Eve Blizzard but more ice and less wind.  They are expecting a power loss SOOOOOOOOO, the 7 second timer will be on until Sunday night at 11 PM (CST).  I hope you enjoy the shorter timer.  Please have patience if you submit a site or send a support ticket.

Welcome to another weekend special at Global Hits.  I hope you have had a good week!!  Our snow from the blizzard on Christmas Eve is almost gone and we are having fairly nice weather.  Unfortunately, we have had several tremors recently close to my location, which is very unusual for Oklahoma, although we do have a fault line running through the state. Fortunately, I have NOT felt the ones here.  I experienced one in Alaska and that was enough for me!!!  On with the business at hand!!

I’d like to welcome and thank all the new members who have joined since my last newsletter.  Long term members, thank you for your promotions and support.  Global Hits continues to grow and that is due to your dedication!!!  My thanks goes to you!!!

INCREASED SURF RATIO AND DOUBLE CREDITS
Beginning now and ending at 11 PM (CST) SUNDAY, you will receive an increased surf ratio.  This mean Free members surf at .75, Gold at 1.0 and Platinum at 1.25.  DOUBLE CREDITS will be on your surf verification page.  Simply click on the correct answer and the credits are automatically added.

One bit of news, I have deleted several members due to having suspended sites.  If a member has only one site, it is suspended and they are surfing, they are wasting your hard earned credits!!  More will be deleted.  Please check to make sure your sites are in rotation.  If they are suspended, please submit sites according to TOS to retain your account.

We made it through The Blizzard of 09 and are back!!  Hello and welcome to all new members and a belated Merry Christmas to everyone!  Global Hits was functioning but I was unable to get online.  Fortunately, my son was able to send out a message to give you a glimpse of the problem.

On December 23, we had a power surge, which fried our modem.  Christmas Eve morning, we starting receiving rain and sleet…for about 3 to 4 hours!!  Of course this began freezing.  Next it began to snow and snow and more snow along with howling 50 to 60 mph winds from the North.  Now most of you would not think this is strange but in Oklahoma, this is a rare occurrence.  We broke 3 records, 1 being the most snowfall in one day…a total of 14.1″.  Needless to say, the only vehicles moving were to the ditches or into other vehicles.  A State of Emergency was issued and the military was brought in to rescue stranded motorists.  All major highways and turnpikes were closed,
along with the airports and city streets.  People were forced to spend the night at malls or airports if they didn’t heed the warning and make it home before the streets were impassable.  It was a beautiful white Christmas but I’m sure it will be one to remember, especially for those stranded.

That brings me back to the modem!  It was stranded out there also.  The cable company was able to bring one out and install it late last night.  Unfortunately, we missed wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and having our special.  I hope everyone who celebrates Christmas had a Very Merry Christmas and those who don’t, a very nice day.

We are having a late special to make up for the computer being down!!  Beginning now and ending at 11 PM (CST) Tuesday, December 29, I will set the timer to 7 SECONDS.  WE WILL ALSO HAVE TRIPLE CREDITS ON THE SURF VERIFICATION PAGE.  Be sure to answer the question correctly to receive your extra credits!
